On the Spot! Freshens Up: Saved Signatures, Event Reminders, and a New Look

A new version of On the Spot!, the app interpreters carry into every assignment, is rolling out, and it brings some of the most requested conveniences yet, wrapped in a fresh new look.

Sign once, use it everywhere

Completing assignment paperwork means signing forms, and until now it meant drawing your signature every single time. The app can now save your signature: sign once, and every future form offers it back, ready to apply. The signature screen and the event details card were also reworked for better readability, so reviewing what you are signing is easier on the eyes.

Event reminders, in beta

The app can now remind you about your events, a nudge on your phone ahead of an assignment, so a quiet afternoon appointment does not depend on memory alone. You will find Reminders in Settings, marked beta while we tune it, and every switch in Settings now responds instantly when you flip it.

Location, with clear consent

Location features received a careful rebuild. Live location updates now work dependably for the assignments that use them, and the app follows Google Play's disclosure rules: it plainly explains what location is used for and asks before using it. Finished your day, head back to settings and disable location sharing. Off means off.

A fresh face

The update looks as good as it works. The app opens with a new animated reveal, with the calendar flying in through the O of the logo, and even an empty day has some charm: tap a day with nothing scheduled and a small animated scene greets you instead of a blank screen. Under the surface polish, the app now uses the same typeface as the rest of the Flow Platform family, calendar day selection glides with a smooth animated band, and the filter screen was rebuilt with a cleaner look.

Quicker underneath

Plenty happened where you cannot see it: the app warms up its connection while the opening animation plays, locally stored content keeps your schedule ready between screens, and the navigation was rebuilt on a sturdier foundation. The result is an app that starts faster and moves faster.
