A Window Into Your Own Earnings: Analytics and Insights Come to On the Spot!

Every freelance interpreter is running a business of one. And every business owner wants answers to the same questions. Am I earning more this month than last? What did I actually make per hour once everything shook out? Which customers send me the most work? Until now, answering those questions meant piecing things together by hand. Starting with this release, the answers live in the On the Spot! app.

The numbers you have always wanted, finally on your phone

The new Analytics section gives you a clear picture of your own work: total income, completed jobs, hours worked, and miles driven, each with a trend arrow that tells you whether you are up or down from the period before.

There are no dropdowns to configure and no filters to set. A dropdown asks you to make a decision before you have seen anything; scrolling asks nothing. So the screen is simply a stack of periods you scroll through, most recent first: This Week, Last Week, This Month, This Quarter, This Year, Last Year, the Last 3 Years, and a Year-over-Year comparison. Each card's header sticks as you pass it, and every current period carries a small timeline bar showing how far into it you are, so a week-to-date number always sits in context.

Tap any period and it opens into the full story: your income and jobs over time, a completion funnel showing finished work against what is upcoming, cancelled, or a no-show, along with the estimated income lost to cancellations. You also get your income split across service, mileage, travel, fees, and adjustments, a breakdown by how you work (on-site, phone, video, virtual), and ranked lists of your top job categories and top customers.

Numbers you can trust

This is the decision we are proudest of: we do not recalculate your income, we read it. Every earnings figure comes directly from the pay records that were actually disbursed to you. Interpreter pay is not a flat rate: overtime, rate adjustments, and mileage compensation all interact, and those rules already ran when your payout was settled. A second calculation would be a second thing that could drift from the truth. Reading the settled record means the figure on your screen matches what you were actually paid, always.

Your headline rates follow the same honesty. Dollars per hour and dollars per mile are realized rates: real dollars over real hours and miles, not a number from a contract. If your work does not include mileage compensation, the app says "no mileage" instead of showing a misleading zero. Everything on the screen is built from the same set of completed jobs, so no card ever disagrees with another. And your data is strictly yours: scoped to you and your current agency, never mixed across accounts, never shown to anyone else.

Insights: from "how did I do" to "what should I do"

Analytics answers how you did. The new Insights section reads your own history and helps you plan. It is built from three simple grids of your week, hour by hour and day by day, shaded darker where the activity is heavier:

• When you work: the hours and days your assignments actually happen.
• When offers reach you: the rhythm of when work gets sent your way across the week.
• When you accept work: the hours you tend to win assignments, your competitive window.

On top of the grids sit a card with your best periods on record and, above everything, your Insight: one plain sentence that reads all of the above and hands you something to act on. It is grounded in your own win rate, the share of offers you respond to that you actually get, compared across the hours of your week. If your evenings win five times more often than your middays, your Insight will tell you so.

Insights follows strict rules. It looks only at your own footprint, never other interpreters and never company-wide statistics. And it never invents a number: every figure is a real one from your own record, broken down.
