Every Check-In on an Event in One Timeline, and Bundling Rules That Settle the Overlaps
Administrators get a timeline of everything an interpreter recorded on an event, Flow Finance auto-bundling settles how overlapping assignments are paid, Returned to Vendor gains a Totals view, and a rebuilt Receive Payment moves into testing.
This week brought a clearer view of what really happened on an assignment, firm rules for how overlapping work is paid, and the Totals view we mentioned last week.
Every recorded step of an event, on one timeline
Power Tools has a new Event management tab. Pick an event and you see every step the interpreter recorded against it, check in, start and end of a break, check out, as a simple timeline of cards: what was recorded, when, and by whom.
When something was recorded by mistake, say a break that was started twice, an administrator can switch that entry off, and switch it back on if needed. Paired steps, like the start and end of the same break, move together so the timeline never ends up half-changed, and every change is noted in the event's journal. Most importantly, the length of the break is recalculated on the spot, so the invoice and the interpreter's pay keep working from the same number.
Flow Finance auto-bundling: the overlap rules, settled
When an interpreter has assignments that overlap, Flow Finance bundles them into one compensation picture. This week the rules for who "owns" the overlapping time were finalized and written down:
- The higher hourly rate wins the overlap. Always.
- At equal rates, a cancelled-but-billable assignment keeps its time, and it is paid for its full scheduled window, exactly as if it had happened.
- Otherwise, the assignment that started first keeps the overlap.
Two refinements make the result easier to trust. An assignment whose time went entirely to another member of the bundle now shows a clear $0.00 line instead of disappearing, so you can see it was considered. And each assignment's rate is now chosen based on how the work was actually delivered, so a remote assignment paid at an interpreter's on-site rate is ranked on that real rate. In the compensation review, the bundle diagram now draws a timeline for every member of the bundle, including the ones that came out at $0.00.
Returned to Vendor gets its Totals view
The Totals tab we previewed last week is here. It groups returned work and sums the columns you care about, with its own right-click menu that jumps straight into a search for the rows behind any total. A new 120-day bucket catches older returned work, and the interpreter list now only shows interpreters who actually have returned assignments.
Also from last week's list: when you save your column choices, columns now hide and show instantly instead of waiting for a reload.
In the works: a rebuilt Receive Payment
A new Receive Payment screen is in testing. Recording a payment happens in a form right beside the invoice list, ticking Paid in full fills in the amount for you, and the payment date starts on today. Importing a bank file becomes one guided tab with three steps: choose the file, match its columns (with a real sample value shown beside each one), and then a review that tells you exactly which invoices were paid, which closed, and which were not paid at all. More on this when it launches.
